Law Clerk (Part Time)
Position
Aegis Criminal Law is a firm based in Brisbane. However, provides legal representation for people all across Queensland. In addition to Brisbane, we are actively appearing in various Court from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast. We represent people who are charged with criminal and traffic offences, as well as those who are dealing with domestic violence matters.
Role
Your role will involve appearing in various Courts across South East Queensland for mentions and to instruct Barristers on client matters. It will also include the preparation of matters, such as briefing barrister, liaising with clients to arrange appointments, and assisting with the day-to-day running of the practice.
This is a part time position requires between 15 and 30 hours per week, and would be well suited to someone who is currently undertaking their Bachelor’s Degree or Practical Legal Training. The pay will be commensurate with experience.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Be in their penultimate year of university, studying law and/or justice;
- Hold a driver’s licence and have a vehicle;
- Have excellent written and verbal communication;
- Have attention to detail;
- Be organised; and
- A desire to pursue a career in criminal law.
