Any person who unlawfully and indecently assaults another person, or procures another person, without that person’s consent, to commit an act of gross indecency or witness an act of gross indecency by the person or any other person, commits a crime.
The maximum liability for this offence is 10 years imprisonment. This liability is increased to 14 years imprisonment if the “gross indecency” concerns contact between the anus and genitalia with any part of the mouth of a person. A term of life imprisonment can be imposed if the person committing the offence is armed with a weapon or in company with another person.
